As a domestic student, you can study individual subjects without committing to a full course. Learn more about non-award study and how to apply.

What is non-award study?

Non-award study refers to enrolment in subjects that do not count towards a formal award course at UTS. It is only available to domestic students.

Students often undertake non-award study out of personal interest or to upgrade their skills or knowledge in a specific area covered by the subject.

Entry requirements

To be considered for admission, you need to meet any prerequisites of your chosen subject. Some subjects have no prerequisites.

What does non-award study cost?

The cost of a subject for non-award students is available from subject-based fees for domestic non-award and non-CSP students.

Students undertaking non-award study are not eligible for Australian government loan schemes.
