Understanding fees for postgraduate degrees
If you are a domestic postgraduate coursework student at UTS, there are two types of tuition fees you may need to pay:
Domestic full fee-paying tuition fees:
- Typically, UTS offers entry to postgraduate coursework courses on a full fee-paying basis
- Tuition fees are based on the specific course and subjects in which you are enrolled
- Fees are set annually and subject to revision each year. Learn more about domestic full fee-paying tuition fees.
Commonwealth supported place fees:
- Some postgraduate coursework courses may offer Commonwealth supported places (CSPs).

Estimating your tuition fees
You can estimate your tuition fees using the postgraduate domestic students by course fees calculator. Note that rates are set for the current year and are revised annually. To use the fee calculator, you will need to know the course number, which can be found in the course details via the course finder.

Other fees and costs
In addition to tuition fees, you may need to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee, which is based on your study load.
This fee supports the provision of amenities and non-academic services for students at UTS.

Alumni Advantage – 10% Savings
UTS Alumni are eligible for the Alumni Advantage, which offers a 10% saving on full fee-paying degree programs.
Visit the Alumni Advantage program webpage for more information on eligibility.
Financial assistance
If you are a domestic full fee-paying postgraduate student, you may be eligible for the Australian Government's FEE-HELP loan scheme to assist with your tuition fees. Eligible students can cover all or part of their tuition fees using FEE-HELP.

Tax deductibility
If your postgraduate degree is related to your employment, your tuition fees may be tax deductible as a self-education expense, even if you defer payments using FEE-HELP.
Contact your financial adviser or the ATO for advice or visit the guide to students and tax on the ATO website.
UTS Financial Assistance Service
UTS offers a range of programs and services to help with practical and financial aspects of student life. You can book a confidential appointment with a financial assistance officer to discuss your financial situation.
The service also provides self-help resources for managing finances, including information on tax, scholarships, and loans.
For more information contact the UTS Financial Assistance Service.
Tuition payment due dates
It is important to pay your fees in full by the due date. Late payments will incur a fee, and your enrolment may be cancelled if you do not pay on time.
