What is the Elite Athletes and Performers Entry Scheme?
The scheme recognises the impact elite sport and performance can have on students.
Eligible applicants will receive 5 adjustments to their selection rank, which will be used to determine entry into our courses.
This entry scheme is for applicants to UTS only. If you are a commencing or current student and an elite athlete or performer, consider applying for ActivateUTS’s Elite Athlete Program (opens external site) or the Elite Performers Program (opens external site).
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the UTS elite athletes and performers scheme, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- be an elite athlete or performer
- have submitted a UAC application and preferenced a UTS course.
If you're eligible and receive adjustments from inpUTS (Educational Access Scheme), you won’t receive additional adjustments from this scheme.
How do I apply?
You will need to prepare all the information, statements and supporting documents in advance as you are unable to save your application and resume later.
To apply for the scheme you will need:
- your UAC application number and details about your schooling and performance commitments
- to complete a Training/Rehearsal Schedule and Personal Statement template (PDF, 1.8MB)
- to complete a Supporting Statement template (Coach/Manager) (PDF, 4.4MB) from your sporting/performance coach or manager OR the equivalent supporting statement on an official letterhead
- to complete a Supporting Statement template (Education) (PDF, 1.9MB) from the responsible person at your education institution (e.g. principal, careers advisor) OR the equivalent supporting statement on an official letterhead
- any other applicable supporting documents.
Additional requirements for elite performers
Elite performers also need to submit a portfolio of work or performance resume. This may include:
- an insight into published work
- examples of exhibited pieces
- resume of recent productions/performances
- current or ongoing projects.
