Recognising your talent
The Music and Sound Design Portfolio Scheme allows you to submit your work for up to five extra adjustments.
These adjustments will go towards your selection rank and improve your application to study at UTS.
The scheme is open from Thursday 14 November to Sunday 8 December 2024.

What is the Music and Sound Design Portfolio Scheme?
The scheme is offered for music and sound design courses to recognise your ability beyond what your ATAR allows.
If you are worried you will not meet the minimum selection rank for your course, submitting your portfolio can add up to five adjustments to your selection rank.
Who is eligible?
To be considered for an offer from UTS, you must have applied through UAC and have put in a preference for at least one of the following UTS courses:
You must also meet the UTS matriculation standards – these are the minimum standards required for any UTS course.
How do I apply?
You will be able to submit your portfolio following your UAC application. Make sure you preference at least one of the relevant courses.
You will need the following for your portfolio submission:
- your UAC reference number.
- a written submission of no more than 400 words explaining your interest in studying music and sound design at UTS and outlining your music and/or sound design interests and achievements. Include details of AMEB or other qualifications.
- supporting audio-visual material including URL links to videoed performances, recorded composition, music production or sound design work (YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud recommended). A maximum of 3 items will be considered. For each item, include details of your role in their creation and details of collaborators or other sources of media submitted.
- a 3-minute video recording of you talking to camera explaining the works in your portfolio and your role in their creation (YouTube or Vimeo recommended). You may highlight aspects of the work submitted that help identify this as your work and demonstrate your capacity for success at UTS.
- a CV/resume.
