Compose and innovate

The Bachelor of Music and Sound Design combined with the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation is a portfolio-based course designed for aspiring professionals in music and sound design, seeking to hone their artistic, technical, and theoretical expertise. This course provides a comprehensive blend of music, sound, and screen disciplines (film, TV, games, online), enhanced with high-level conceptual thinking and problem-solving practices that lead to the development of innovative, creative and entrepreneurial outcomes.

As part of the double degree, you'll gain leading edge capabilities that are highly valued in the globalised world, including dealing with critical and creative thinking, invention, complexity, innovation, future scenario building and entrepreneurship, and the ability to work on their own across disciplines.

What you’ll study

You'll gain knowledge in music production, sound engineering, digital media, as well as sound and music creation, learning directly from industry experts. Teaching is hands-on, set in UTS's advanced sound labs, and focuses on project-based learning. You’ll have opportunities to manage a music label, record in professional studios, and collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects, all whilst creating a portfolio of sound works demonstrating your creativity and professionalism.
