• HSC students arrow_forward_ios

  Use your NESA number (this is different to your school student number and your UAC number). By providing your NESA number in your application, it allows us to access your Year 11 results automatically.

• IB students arrow_forward_ios

  Use your personal code (this has letters at the beginning). For us to access your results, you can either upload your Year 11 report, or complete and upload the UTS Early Entry program Year 11 Results Form to the application portal.

• Interstate applicants arrow_forward_ios

  Use your student number (see further down for a guide between states and territories). For us to access your results, you will need to complete and upload the UTS Early Entry program Year 11 Results Form to the application portal.  

   

  ACT: 7 digit number assigned by the ACT BSSS 

  VCE: 8 digit number and 1 letter at the end (e.g. 12345678B) 

  QCE: 10 digit number 

  SACE: 6 digit number and 1 letter at the end (e.g. 123456B) 

  NTCE: 6 digit number and 1 letter at the end (e.g. 123456B) 

  WACE: 8 digit number 

  TCE: A combination of numbers and letters (e.g. 12B3456, 12B34567, S9231067 or 00A10464)

• How do I accept or defer my offer? arrow_forward_ios

  Visit the pages on accepting an offer or deferring an offer (/for-students/admissions-entry/deferring-offers) for information. If you need any help, contact ASK UTS.  

• How are Early Entry program applications assessed? arrow_forward_ios

  Early Entry applications are assessed on your Year 11 results. These results are converted into a rank, which is then assessed against the threshold rank of your chosen course. 

  The threshold rank is determined by the demand for places and how many places are available. If there are many applications for a course and a limited supply of places, the course threshold rank will be higher than courses with fewer applications or a larger supply of places. 

  Preferencing is also an important part of your application. We use a preferential offer system, which means we look at your preferences as an offer wish list.

  Example: if both John and Sam preference a Bachelor of Business, but John has preferenced a Bachelor of Business second and Sam has preferenced a Bachelor of Business third, John will be considered for a Bachelor of Business before Sam, as he has preferenced it higher.  

• When assessing Year 11 results, will certain subjects be given extra weighting? arrow_forward_ios

  No, UTS will be looking at your performance overall in Year 11. No subjects will be weighted higher.

  For Engineering and IT applicants, select STEM subjects can receive additional points. Due to the competitiveness of STEM subjects, which can change from year to year, the subject list is not fixed. 

• Why are some courses excluded from the Early Entry program? arrow_forward_ios

  Due to the high demand for certain courses, such as Midwifery, they are not included in the Early Entry program. Our Co-op scholarships are excluded as they have a separate application process.

• After I receive my provisional offer, do I still need to achieve the 2025 selection rank for my course? arrow_forward_ios

  No, Early Entry offer holders are not required to meet the 2025 selection rank for their course. All Early Entry offer holders must only meet the ATAR requirement specified for their course.

• If I receive an Early Entry offer from another university, will that impact my ability to receive an Early Entry offer from UTS? arrow_forward_ios

  No, receiving an Early Entry offer from another institution will not stop you from receiving an Early Entry offer from us.

• If I receive an Early Entry offer from UTS, can I still be eligible for offers via UAC? arrow_forward_ios

  Yes! The Early Entry program and the UAC offer rounds are different. You can get an offer through the UTS Early Entry program and receive offers in the UAC offer rounds. UAC offers will be based on your Year 12 results and eligible adjustments.

• What are my options if I do not receive an Early Entry offer? arrow_forward_ios

  We recommend that you preference UTS in your UAC application for consideration in the UAC offer rounds. The first offer round for school leavers will be UAC December Round 2. UAC applications are assessed on different criteria to the Early Entry program, including your Year 12 ATAR, and take into consideration any adjustments you may be eligible for.

• Does UTS provide adjustments for females interested in studying Engineering, IT or Construction courses? arrow_forward_ios

  Yes, as part of UTS' initiatives to support greater female participation in key industries of the future, we offer 10 adjustments.

• I’m interested in applying for the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS). Do I still need to put in a separate application? arrow_forward_ios

  Yes! The Schools Recommendation Scheme and the Early Entry program are different and if you wish to apply for both, you will need to submit two applications, one is direct to UTS, while the other is via UAC. While both award early offers, there are differences.

• What’s the difference between the Early Entry program and the early entry through the SRS equity stream? arrow_forward_ios

  The SRS equity stream is focused on supporting students who have the potential to succeed at university, but who may have suffered disadvantage, impacting their school results. If you think you might be eligible, we’d strongly recommend you apply. You will need to apply through UAC for this scheme and must also be eligible for the educational access scheme (EAS).

   
  The Early Entry program is a merit scheme and focuses on rewarding students who have performed well in Year 11 and this is reflected in their Year 11 results. Unlike the SRS scheme, you will submit your application through the UTS application portal.
