UTS Early Entry program

Did well in Year 11? Secure your place at UTS

If you’re a Year 11 high achiever, the UTS Early Entry program lets you apply to your course and receive an offer, all before your Year 12 final exams.

Key dates for the 2025 UTS Early Entry program

  • Applications for 2025 open on 5 June 2024.
  • Applications for 2025 close on 9 September 2025.
  • Provisional offers are released to applicants on 26 September 2024.
  • HSC written exams are on 15 October 2024.
  • ATARs are released for NSW/ACT applicants on 18 December 2024.

What is the UTS Early Entry program?

If you are a Year 12 student, the program allows you to apply for most UTS courses before your HSC/IB exams, using your Year 11 results.  

If your application is successful, you will receive a provisional offer. You will still need to complete your exams, as well as achieve a minimum ATAR depending on your course.  

Who can apply for the UTS Early Entry program?

The UTS Early Entry program is open to high school students currently studying an Australian Year 12 qualification or International Baccalaureate (November exams only within the Oceania region). To be eligible, you must also be one of the following:   

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • onshore international applicant.

What courses are included in the UTS Early Entry program?

You can apply for most UTS courses through the Early Entry program.  

The courses not included are:   

  • Bachelor of Accounting Co-operative Scholarship
  • Bachelor of Computing Science (IDeA)
  • Bachelor of Cybersecurity (IDeA)
  • Bachelor of Information Technology Co-operative Scholarship
  • Bachelor of Midwifery
  • Bachelor of Midwifery Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation
  • Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Exercise Therapy)
  • Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Psychology
  • Bachelor of Psychology Bachelor of Criminology.

You can still apply for these courses through UAC and the Schools Recommendation Scheme.

How do I apply for the UTS Early Entry program?

Applications are made through the UTS Early Entry program application portal.  

You can choose up to three courses in your application, and only one offer will be made per application. We encourage you to put the course that you are most interested in as your first preference, as we make offers based on your highest eligible preference.  

At the start of your application you will need to use a specific number and PIN. Your PIN is usually the first four digits of your date of birth. For example, if your date of birth is 03/10/2006, your PIN is 0310.

The specific number you use will depend on whether you’re a HSC, IB, or interstate student. 

Credentials for UTS Early Entry applications

What ATAR is required for the UTS Early Entry program?

If you have received a provisional offer, you will need to complete your HSC/IB exams and achieve the following ATAR:

  • 80 ATAR for law courses
  • 75 ATAR for sport and exercise courses
  • 70 ATAR for education courses
  • 69 ATAR for all other courses.
