Honours courses allow you to gain a deeper understanding and expertise in your chosen field, developing your research and communication skills.

They can be an edge in the job market or a stepping stone to further research degrees, such as a masters.

To study an honours course, you generally need to have completed a bachelor degree by the time your honours course commences.

The admissions requirements for honours differ by course.

Depending on your course, you may need to:

decide on a research topic, either from those offered by your faculty or according to your own interests
confirm a supervisor within your faculty is willing to oversee your research.
