Flexible online delivery
Managing study alongside work and other personal commitments is always a challenge but we’ve designed a course which at least eases the pressure – it’s done entirely online and allows you to complete the work in the time most convenient to you. You also have the choice to participate in real-time workshops and classes or catch the recorded version afterwards, giving you full flexibility.
Learn from experts in the field
Our course is designed by Migration Law specialist and award-winning teacher and developer of Migration Law programs, Christine Giles. As well as Christine’s expertise, you’ll also learn from other practitioners working in the field who’ll share their real-world knowledge and experience.
Study six subjects, not eight
Our course, approved by the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA), is designed and delivered across six subjects rather than the eight required by most other institutions. At UTS, we believe in working efficiently by working smarter. For example, rather than study a Client File as an entire subject, you’ll undertake assessable and non-assessable Practice File tasks from the outset, giving you the opportunity to reinforce and perfect your written skills throughout the course. The assessment tasks are authentic, aimed at preparing you for practice. Our Communicating with Clients project equips you to take instructions and provider oral advice to clients, ensuring success in the oral component of your Practice File and importantly, in the workplace once you qualify.
Graduate in 12 months
We’ve designed our course so students can maximise their development of knowledge and skills across a manageable time frame. By enrolling in two subjects per semester for a total of three semesters, you’ll be able to finish the course within 12 months.
We’ll prepare you for the next step
If you’re not a lawyer with an unrestricted practising certificate, you’ll need to complete the Capstone Assessment in order to qualify as a registered migration agent with the OMARA. The Capstone Assessment is administered independently of UTS, but we've designed a free Capstone Preparation Module to help you prepare. Our Capstone Preparation Module is available to students enrolled in their final subject (78305 Migration Law in Practice).
