Empowering change: Judith’s journey from PNG to UTS

A graduate of an MBA at UTS, Judith is weaving her learnings into the fabric of her homeland’s development, embodying the change she wishes to see. With an undergraduate degree in International Relations and Public Policy from the University of Papua New Guinea, Judith’s story is one of ambition and resilience, and her career in the public service has been driven by a commitment to foster change.

At UTS, she gained practical, industry-related knowledge that she intends to pursue in her career and personal endeavours in her homeland.

Overcoming challenges

Returning to academics as a mother and a professional a decade after her first degree, Judith faced the challenges of adjusting to an advanced educational environment. Yet, her dedication has been unwavering.

Utilising the myriad of support services offered by UTS, from counselling to academic help, she has navigated her journey with remarkable determination.

A vision for the future realised 

Judith has since graduated and returned to Papua New Guinea and now serves as Acting Commissioner at PNG Public Services Commission fulfilling her goal to return to her homeland and help uplift future leaders and encourage the use of their skills for societal benefit. 

Her story is not just about personal achievement but about the broader impact of education on community development and international collaboration.
