• Unparalleled size & functionality: the UTS Super Lab  is not just large; it’s a revolutionary space that can accommodate over 200 students at once. With the ability to run 12 different classes simultaneously – including biology, chemistry and physics – the Super Lab is designed for maximum efficiency and versatility, making it the first of its kind in Australia.
• Pioneering design: modelled on the Super Lab at London Metropolitan University, our Science Super Lab is one of only two in Australia. This lab features 25 workbenches, each with its own monitor that displays data from both the demonstrator station and the student’s input. The lab also includes 60 breakout spaces, some equipped with smart boards, making it ideal for group discussions, presentations and collaborative learning. 
• Interdisciplinary learning: this lab offers a unique opportunity to observe and engage in experiments across different disciplines, broadening your perspective and sparking curiosity about other fields of study. 

Collaborative & innovative: the Hive Superlab is a state-of-the-art teaching facility designed to accommodate 270 students. With its distinctive hexagonal zones and advanced AV technology, including bone-conduction headphones, the lab fosters an interactive learning environment where students from different disciplines can collaborate and share ideas. This cross-disciplinary approach not only enriches your learning experience but also encourages the cross-pollination of knowledge and innovation. 

Hands-on experimentation: built to a PC2-standard, the Hive Superlab allows students to conduct a wide range of biological experiments, including working with organisms that cause foodborne illnesses and serious infections, providing real-world lab experience in a controlled environment. 
 

Immersive forensic training: Designed to resemble a city apartment, the Crime Scene Simulation Lab provides a realistic environment for forensic science students. Here, you can practise essential skills like fingerprinting, evidence collection and detection techniques, all while gaining a deeper understanding of what it’s like to work as a forensic investigator.
