World-class infrastructure
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) building is a beacon of innovation and technology at UTS. Located on the UTS City Campus, it is within walking distance of Central Station and the Sydney CBD.
The 12-storey FEIT building serves as a cutting-edge laboratory with wireless sensors monitoring temperature, air quality, noise and dust. Designed with sustainability in mind, it includes rooftop wind turbines, solar panels, water recycling and charging stations for battery-powered cars, generating 20% of its energy needs. The exterior features aluminium plates spelling out 'University of Technology Sydney Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology' in binary, illuminated by green LED lighting at night.
The best learning experiences
Our teaching model, learning.futures, integrates advanced technology into the learning process. Classrooms in the FEIT building are designed to enhance group work and practice-based learning with digital screens and moveable furniture. Collaborative theatres seating approximately 200 students facilitate various forms of engagement, including lectures, group work, and technology-enabled activities.

Specialised facilities and labs
The FEIT building houses a range of specialised laboratories and spaces where students can gain hands-on practical experience:

Access and safety
FEIT students have 24-hour access to the building after completing an annual safety induction. Student cards are required for access to various labs and facilities. For assistance with lab access, students should contact their subject coordinator.
Safety induction: all engineering and IT students must complete the Safety and Wellbeing Essentials Module each year to access Faculty facilities. Additional room-specific inductions are required for specialised laboratories. All information can be found at the inductions site.
