Comprehensive network services
- Unix Shell access: students can access a Unix shell via SSH, complete with a home directory that is regularly backed up.
- Additional services: we provide access to Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL databases, Subversion repositories and internal websites to support your studies.
Specialist labs
- Internetworking labs (CB11.07.403 to CB11.07.406): As a Cisco Networking Academy, we offer 5 state-of-the-art internetworking labs equipped with the latest Cisco Systems hardware. These labs provide a Xen-based virtualisation infrastructure, allowing students to configure and manage guest operating systems with administrative rights. Each PC hosts multiple virtual machines tailored for specialised tasks.
- New Media Centre laboratories (CB01.27): Our New Media Centre Labs are a hub for postgraduate students enrolled in interactive multimedia subjects. Open 24/7, these 2 fully equipped labs offer a friendly and supportive environment for creating innovative media projects.
- Graphics and game design laboratory (CB11.06.101): The graphics lab is designed for students exploring computer graphics and game design. Equipped with specialized software like GameMaker Studio, Unity3D, and Houdini Apprentice, this lab is where creativity and technology converge.
- Software Development Studio (CB11.05.402): Our Software Development Studio provides an interdisciplinary space where students collaborate on industry projects. This dynamic environment is ideal for those looking to bring their software development skills to the next level.
Games studio (CB11.06.401)
Dedicated to the evolving field of gaming, the Games Studio is a space where students and academics work together to develop the next generation of gaming technologies. Current themes include serious games, augmented reality, game AI, interactive storytelling, collaborative virtual environments and intelligent game design.
