Computer labs and Printing Bureau
The faculty boasts six advanced computer labs, each equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support your creative and academic pursuits. With 400 Mac computers running both OS X and Windows, these labs provide access to a wide range of the latest software used in FASS courses.
- Level three lab: open to all FASS students, this lab offers a versatile space for various digital projects.
- Specialist labs: these labs cater to more specific needs, offering specialised equipment and software.
- Printing Bureau: our labs include a printing bureau capable of producing high-quality colour prints, from standard A4 size to large-format banners. Additional services such as binding, laminating and trimming tools for artboards are also available, ensuring your projects have a professional finish.
Animation Lab
Our Animation Lab is designed to bring your creative visions to life with high-end Macs running industry-standard applications for 2D and 3D animation, video production, web design and multimedia. This lab is connected to a world-class renderfarm with several hundred CPUs, all networked for high-speed 3D rendering and compositing. Standard software includes:

Animation Hub
The Animation Hub is a dedicated space offering everything needed for both undergraduate and postgraduate animation projects. Features include:
Motion Capture Studio
an industry-standard facility where students can work with the same cutting-edge system used by leading animation production companies.
Chromakey Studio (Studio Three)
Equipped with a Chromakey backdrop, this studio allows for seamless integration of live-action footage with animation and visual effects.
