Study the most in-demand business course in NSW
Bachelor of Business
There’s more than one reason why the UTS Bachelor of Business is the most popular business degree in NSW.*
With nine majors on offer plus a diverse selection of elective, extension and specialist subjects, you can create a tailored qualification — and a future career path — that reflects what’s important to you.
Add in cross-disciplinary subject options and a flexible approach to learning – think online, offline, daytime and evening study options – and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind course that supports you to balance study, work and life.
Why study the Bachelor of Business?
It’s customisable, flexible, socially conscious, practical and hands-on.
- Customisable: Spend a year studying fundamental business subjects to learn a bit about lots of different disciplines. This will help you choose a specialisation and other options in your second year that match your professional interests. Your specialisation is your major and other options include second major, sub-major, extension subjects or electives.
- Flexible: Choose from 9 majors, 2 second majors, over 30 sub-majors and 5 major extensions and build a degree that’s uniquely you. Study subjects across a broad range of business disciplines or take a deep dive into one or more specialist areas that will prepare you for career success.
- Socially conscious: Become an ethical, sustainable and future-focused business practitioner with our new Business and Social Impact core subject and learn to use your expertise to change the world for the better.
- Practical: Course content has been designed in partnership with industry, which means it’s practically focused, professionally accredited and reflects the realities of the contemporary business world.
- Hands-on: Apply your learning to a real business problem with a final-year capstone project. Nothing prepares you for your future career like real-world experience — and at UTS, that experience starts now.
UTS has a reputation for integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
I was particularly drawn to its strong industry connections and the emphasis on real-world experiences.
Moreover, its location in the heart of Sydney offers numerous opportunities for networking and access to major corporations.

As someone who was not entirely sure of the direction I was going or who had yet to discover any lifelong passions, business was a safe option.
A Bachelor of Business is a very versatile degree with a large amount of flexibility to explore areas you find interesting which allowed me to see and pursue what I found myself drawn to, for me it was marketing.
