What you’ll study

Events is one of five majors available in the UTS Bachelor of Management. Within this program, you’ll complete a range of core disciplinary subjects to build essential capabilities in management, innovation and marketing.

You’ll then concentrate your learning as you study toward your major, obtaining vital professional skills in event management, promotion and sponsorships. You can opt to enhance your specialisation through a second major or sub-major or experience different perspectives with electives from other disciplines like arts, technology and health.

First year

Second year

Acquire practical experience in the Innovation Lab and develop skills in managing risk and legal issues. Explore event promotion and sponsorship, with flexibility to choose additional electives.
Third year

Focus on venue operations and servicescapes, and apply your knowledge in a business internship or diversity management. Complete your studies with the capstone in managing for social impact and hands-on experience in the Event Creation Lab.

A selection rank combines your ATAR with any other adjustment points that make up your overall university entrance score. Your selection rank may differ from university to university, depending on the adjustment points granted to you at each institution.

All you need to do is choose the Elective that inspires you the most.

Transdisciplinary Electives integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines, allowing you to approach complex problems from a range of perspectives.

By combining methods and insights from various disciplines, transdisciplinary learning often leads to breakthrough ideas and creative innovations that may not be possible within the confines of a single discipline.

If you find yourself rapt by the world of innovation – you can pair your core degree with a Diploma in Innovation, graduating with two qualifications in the same timeframe.

In both instances, you’ll work on a real-world challenge presented by an industry partner organisation – partners who often create career pathways for our graduates.

* Excludes students concurrently enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation.
Students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Management and have previously studied at another university or other recognised tertiary educational institution may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if the subjects previously studied are deemed by Business to be equivalent to those specified for their course.

Students who have completed a course at a private college are not eligible for any exemptions unless an articulation agreement between Business and the college is in place. Details of all arrangements are available via the credit recognition search tool.
