Elite athletes and performers scheme
Are you an elite athlete or performer who represented your school or state at a national-level competition/event?
Has your study been impacted because of this?
If you answered yes to both of these questions, you can apply for this scheme! If eligible, you'll receive 5 adjustment points to your Selection Rank.
Applications for 2025 intake are open and close on 2 December 2024.

Am I eligible?
To be eligible for the UTS Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- be an elite athlete or performer
- have submitted a UAC application and preferenced a UTS course
What is an elite athlete?
You have officially represented your school or state at a national level competition during Year 12 or other studies relevant to your application.
Your selection to the relevant team must be competitive.
What is an elite performer?
You have performed in extended/significant productions or competitions in Australia or overseas during Year 12, or other studies relevant to your application.
This may include actors, dancers, public speakers, debaters and musicians.
How to apply?
Before you start this application, please make sure you have the below information and documents ready:
- your UAC application number and details about your schooling and performance commitments
- complete Training/Rehearsal Schedule and Personal Statement template (PDF, 1.8MB)
- complete Supporting Statement template (Coach/Manager) (PDF, 4.4MB) from your sporting/performance coach or manager OR the equivalent supporting statement on an official letterhead
- complete Supporting Statement template (Education) (PDF, 1.9MB) from the responsible person at your education institution (e.g. principal, careers advisor) OR the equivalent supporting statement on an official letterhead
- any other applicable supporting documents.
- for Elite Performers only: Portfolio of work or Performance resume. This may include:
- an insight into published work
- examples of exhibited pieces
- resume of recent productions/performances; and/or
- current or ongoing projects.
It’s important that you prepare all the information, statements and supporting documents in advance as you won’t be able to save your application and resume at a later time.
Combining this application with other admissions schemes
If you’ve applied for the Educational Access Scheme (inpUTS) via UAC and are deemed eligible, you’ll receive adjustment points for that scheme instead. You won’t receive adjustment points from the Elite Athlete and Performer Scheme.
