Study Business and Teaching at UTS

This course is designed for aspiring secondary school teachers specialising in Business Studies. Choose this course to gain comprehensive knowledge and practical experience, ensuring you're well-prepared to educate the next generation in these subjects.

The combined Vertical Stack course (undergraduate + postgraduate degree) enables you to gain a greater depth of disciplinary knowledge in Business Studies before you commence your teaching subjects in the Master of Teaching in Secondary Education from the second year of study. Gaining a wider and deeper understanding in the field of study gives you more confidence when you commence as a teacher.

What you’ll study

You must complete 192 credit points during this double degree.

For the Bachelor of Business degree, you must complete 96 credit points of disciplinary content subjects consisting of 48 credit points of core subjects and a 48 credit points major in Economics or Management.

In the Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education component, you complete 96 credit points comprising 42 credit points of core subjects focused on the foundation education disciplines of learning, motivation and adolescent psychology, and 54 credit points of teaching methods and professional experience relating to the teaching area/s chosen at application, as well as elective subjects.

Progression to the final years requires maintaining a Credit average.
