Second SPCNOA was held in Samoa along side South Pacific Nursing Forum (SPNF). Its intent was to: to share information; strengthen networks; analyse key issues for the region; continue to build effective alliances and partnerships; discus and reach consensus on core data to build mechanisms to build nursing and midwifery evidence base support; evaluate national and regional progress on nursing midwifery development.
The WHO Western Pacific Regional Strategic Action Plan for Nursing and Midwifery was first discussed at this meeting.
