WHO CC involvement: Michele Rumsey
Michele Rumsey, Director of Operations and Development at WHO CC UTS, attended the First Regional Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres, as hosted by the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific. The forum aimed to strengthen regional partnerships and explore new ways of working together.
The Forum was held on 13-14 November, Manila, Philippines. The objectives of the forum were as follows:
- to provide an overview of WHO current priorities and future initiatives;
- to identify innovative opportunities and means for strengthening and enhancing partnerships between WHO collaborating centres and WHO; and
- to share good practices and success stories of effective collaboration for scaling-up and wider adoption.
One hundred and twenty Collaborating Centres attended from WPRO. The keynote speaker of the forum was Dr Shin Young-soo, Regional Director of the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific.
