The purpose of the roundtable was to
- give ADB's Vice President an overview of the range of interesting and innovative work being done in Australia on maternal and child health affecting Asia and the Pacific and
- give Australian development agencies, NGOs and aid organisations an opportunity to hear what others, from a wide range of backgrounds, are doing
The roundtable was informal and focused on information sharing.
The roundtable contributed to international, regional and domestic debate around maternal and child health affecting Asia and the Pacific. Leader of the round table, Ian Anderson, presented at SPCNMOA meeting in New Zealand.
Networking with other groups involved in maternal and child health will potentially increase the visibility of WHO CC UTS, create partnerships, build momentum on Australian involvement in international maternal and child health development impacting on maternal and child health outcomes.
