I have found a position by approaching an organisation directly

Steps required of Employer:

  1. Register organisation on CareerHub or Login to CareerHub (if already registered)
  2. Submit the Workplace Health and Safety Form (this is valid for one year). If this is still valid, confirm it covers the duration of the student’s placement.  
  3. Confirm the workplace supervisor’s email address with the student. An email to approve/decline the student placement will be sent to this email address.

If an organisation prefers their HR team to process the forms, they will need to notify the student to use the HR email address as their workplace supervisor.

  1. Once the student has submitted the ‘Placement Summary Form’, CareerHub emails the form to the workplace supervisor for review and approval.
  2. After the student has submitted the ‘Student Evaluation Form’, CareerHub emails the supervisor with a link to the ‘Employer Evaluation Form’ for completion.

Steps required of Student:

  1. Login to CareerHub (using your usual UTS username and password)
  2. Select Dashboard (on top bar)
  3. Select ‘FEIT Placement Workflow’ (on left-hand sidebar)
  4. Follow the workflow reading each step’s instructions carefully
  5. Once you have received an approval email from the faculty you can start your position on the agreed start date.
  6. Don’t forget! Once you finish your placement hours, you must log back into your workflow and submit your ‘Student Evaluation Form’ or your results will be delayed.

Important: You must have your placement recorded and approved by the faculty one week prior to your placement start date.
