The Innovation Hub (iHub) is a spacious room in Building 11 on Level 5, designed specifically for student-led, co-curricular projects focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Innovation Hub
Speaker 1: The iHub is a space dedicated towards innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration. Really, it's for non-curricular and extracurricular projects. So, a lot of students are working on so many things outside of the classroom, and this is about creating a space to facilitate and help bring in more students to work on these cool and exciting projects whether it's anything to do with, I guess, technology and what's going on in the world as well as any individual project that the students might be doing outside of their university subjects. That's what the iHub's all about.
Speaker 2: So, the iHub was designed all with the aim of encouraging innovation in the Faculty of Engineering and IT. We've been working on this for over two years, and we're really excited that it's finally open for students to use. The space is for any student in engineering. All they have to do is tell us what they want to do, and we'll make the space available for them.
Introduction to the iHub CB11.05.400
The iHub is a place for FEIT students to brainstorm, to ideate, to collaborate and to bring ideas to life. The iHub is a space where students have the freedom to explore ideas with no constraints and to innovate with their peers.
These are the five values that underpin the iHub:
- Collaboration – the iHub is a space for students to work together and build upon each other’s knowledge, skills and experiences.
- Inspiration – this is a place for ideas to be explored, encouraged and nurtured.
- Great projects, great people – this is a student-community that supports ideas, projects and each other.
- No marks, no worries – you will never be assessed in this room and your marks don’t matter.
- Student-led – this is a place for students, by students.
