What you’ll study
Before you commence your studies, you'll select one of our seven great Science majors. Your major will include both core and elective units, enabling you to acquire foundational knowledge while allowing you to pursue topics of personal interest.
Meanwhile, your Law studies will cover a variety of core subjects such as ethics, justice, evidence, administrative law and civil practice. You’ll then have the chance to complete a tech-focused major in Legal Futures and Technology or curate your learning experience through your choice of electives.

Course highlights
You’ll get the chance to hone your understanding of the law in the context of research, industrial and commercial enterprise, preparing you for specialist careers in science or areas such as patent, environmental or medical law. Graduates also meet the educational requirements for admission as a lawyer in NSW.

Industry accreditation
This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer. Once completed, you will also need to complete a practical legal training program, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice (available at UTS) to be eligible for admission as a lawyer.
