What you’ll study
Within this degree, you'll complete a number of core Public Health units, building your knowledge and capabilities in vital areas like statistics, epidemiology and primary health care. Toward the end of your degree, you'll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a real working environment in your professional placement.
You will also undertake a number of core Management subjects, establishing your business acumen, leadership skills and entrepreneurial capacity. You'll then specialise in your area of choice through your Management major.

First year
You’ll begin your studies by undertaking a number of core subjects within your Business and Public Health streams. You’ll learn about management marketing and entrepreneurship and establish your foundational knowledge of public health and epidemiology. -
Second year
This year will see you build on your Public Health foundations with in-depth examination of topics like primary care, psychosocial perspectives and health systems. You’ll continue your management studies and begin focusing your learning in your chosen major. -
Third year
You’ll learn about project management, disease prevention and control and promotion and advocacy from a health perspective. Continuing your major studies, you’ll also get the chance to undertake a Transdisciplinary elective, developing vital capabilities in collaboration and innovation. -
Fourth year
Rounding out your study experience, you’ll be exposed to Indigenous perspectives and sustainable approaches within Public Health. Completing any remaining subjects, you’ll finish your degree with practical experience as you undertake your professional health placement. -
Honours
Eligible students can apply for the Bachelor of Public Health (Honours). Completion of this program requires an additional year of full-time study.
