What you’ll study
You'll commence your studies with core Communication units, where you'll build your foundational understanding of this broad and essential discipline. Then, you'll specialise your knowledge through your major, examining topics like screen stories, experimental media, documentary and drama, before completing your own media project.
Meanwhile, you'll engage with your Law studies, covering ethics, evidence, contracts, civil practice, international law and more. You can also opt to further your specialised knowledge with a major in Legal Futures and Technology or broaden your expertise through your choice of options subjects.

In your Communication degree, you’ll get the chance to build skills and a professional creative portfolio in your chosen media discipline. The Law program will give you the opportunity to acquire knowledge of fundamental legal theory and practice and meet the academic requirements for admission to practise law in NSW.

Industry accreditation
This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer. Once completed, you will also need to complete a practical legal training program, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice (available at UTS) to be eligible for admission as a lawyer.
