What you'll study
In this degree, you will complete a range of core mathematics subjects to help build your essential skills in across a broad range of areas in mathematics and statistics, as well as programming. like statistics, complex analysis and programming. You'll then begin developing your specialised knowledge through your major stream, which will typically align with your ideal future career.
You also have the opportunity to attain academic credit through an internship relevant to your academic studies. Elective subjects, which can be chosen from across UTS' wide range of schools and discipline areas, will round out your learning experience.

First year
Your first year will see you study core subjects related to your mathematics discipline. This will see you begin to develop the foundational skills and knowledge you need to become a mathematics professional. -
Second year
In your second year, you’ll continue your studies by completing more core units and building on your mathematical foundations. You will also commence your studies towards your chosen major. -
Third year
In your final year, you’ll complete all remaining subjects in your core and major streams. You will also have the opportunity to broaden your education through several elective units. Honours Eligible students are able to enrol in the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours), which requires an additional year of study.
