Professional medical engineering
Engineers and Medical Scientists are the leaders of developing, engineering, and implementing solutions to health and medical problems globally.
This course is essentially the same as the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Bachelor of Medical Science except for the additional requirement of two internships and completion of the professional engineering practice program which is integrated throughout the course.
This degree is designed for you if you have an interest in medical science, the scientific basis of engineering, and technology. Engineers with medical scientist training have dynamic careers from research and development to writing and implementing policy.

What you’ll study
This combined degree integrates engineering and science education with professional engineering practice. It includes core and major components of both disciplines, with additional requirements of two internships and completion of the professional engineering practice program.
The course aims to develop skills valued by employers, such as technological expertise and design skills. You can also undertake honours in science. Majors are selected at admission, with the flexibility to change later. Graduation from the science component is contingent upon completing all combined degree requirements, ensuring a comprehensive education in both fields.
