Issues of corruption and integrity have affected Australian democracy in many ways throughout history. Albeit sports rorts, lobby group revolving doors, and political donations have undermined transparency, eroding public trust in elected officials.
Without a federal body to keep our politicians honest and accountable, and with an election looming, the issue of a national corruption commission is once again on the table.
In this episode of Think: Business Futures, presenter Stefan Posthuma is joined by Dr Marie dela Rama, lecturer at the UTS Business School and Adam Graycar, professor of Public Policy and director of the Stretton Institute at the University of Adelaide, to explore what corruption looks like in Australia, how it intersects with the private sector and what is needed to deliver real change.
