Sydney University recently announced a $1 billion surplus, a figure exponentially greater than the average, or even the previous record of $133 million.
So, how did this happen, particularly during a recession? Why did the tertiary sector fare so well in the wake of the pandemic?
It comes down to their three main revenue streams: grants from the Australian Government, Commonwealth Supported students, as well as fees. Which source has the most significant impact?
