UTS Cleans Up is a new initiative to help reduce waste and improve recycling in UTS office spaces. To reduce the amount of landfill that UTS generates, waste and recycling will now be collected in centrally located bins.
This new bin system is already in place for staff in Building 10 and 11, and will gradually be rolled out to all other buildings across UTS over the next 12 months.
What’s Different?
- A new dedicated organic food waste bin will be provided in central locations. Food waste will be collected separately, reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
- Instead of garbage bins under each desk, all staff will need to take their own waste and recycling to the central bins located on each floor. This one change will save 10,000 plastic bin liners every week!
