Outcomes Focused Program Evaluation

Program evaluation is a valuable tool for strengthening the quality of programs and improving outcomes. Evaluation provides an opportunity for critical, strategic thinking through collecting and analysing information about a program's activities, characteristics and outcomes. It allows you to assess the effectiveness of your program and improve future services.

This evaluation course is designed to provide you with the applied knowledge and skills to develop evaluation frameworks for a variety of purposes within your workplace. This course is highly participatory and interactive allowing you to apply learning throughout. Using Program Logic and other tools, you will apply evaluative practice and thinking and learn how to analyse the assumptions and values underpinning the expectation of program outcomes.

You will also determine appropriate evaluative approaches for the purpose of tracking progress, making judgments and decisions, building understanding, improving effectiveness and using evidence in program design and reporting. In this evaluation course you will also draw on your own work case studies connected to organisational strategic goals to build your own learning and capacity
