Movement and Place Course
This Movement and Place course explores the real-life hands-on application of the NSW Movement and Place Framework. In this course, you will learn how to use creative and collaborative problem-solving strategies to develop place-based solutions. It will develop your analytical and design skills by focusing on movement systems and places. During the course, you will visit an area and collaborate with other professionals to apply the NSW Movement and Place Framework – providing you with the foundation to recognise the problems and opportunities that manifest in a real place.
By the end of this course, you will feel confident in applying the NSW Movement and Place Framework when collaborating with different stakeholders to design better places. You will have developed a critical understanding of both your own and different stakeholders’ roles as active agents in creating positive change through the application of the Framework.
This is the Movement and Place face-to-face course! I'm Gabriela Quintana, a senior lecturer from the University of Technology Sydney, and I'll be one of your facilitators.
In this face-to-face workshop, you'll be putting the NSW Movement and Place theory you've learned in the NSW Movement and Place eLearning modules into practice. If you haven't done the eLearning modules yet, we recommend you complete them before taking this course. You can find them on the NSW Movement and Place learning hub.
In this face-to-face course you'll build on the NSW Movement and Place framework, developing your analytical and design skills and collaborating with others to learn how to apply the framework in the real world.
We'll visit a real-life site and, exploring the local streetscape, we'll use creative problem-solving strategies to develop place-based solutions. By the end of the course, you'll feel confident in applying the Movement and Place framework to create positive change for your community, and beyond.
We're looking forward to meeting you soon.
