Thesis Title: From the Pacific Solution to the Mediterranean Solution

The thesis compares the border transformations in Australia and the Pacific resulting from the Pacific Solution with similar policies by the Italian Government in the Mediterranean. It uses the concepts of borderscapes, border imaginaries and border logics to analyse the ways that borders are imagined, lived and policed.
