Thesis Title: A poetic approach to documentary:  discomfort of form, rhetorical strategies and aesthetic experience

The main question Bettina is addressing is:
What happens to the concerns of the documentary project when a poetic, aestheticised approach is adopted in audiovisual documentary production?
They shift; become other; emphasise experience; draw attention to the subjectivity of creator, participant and responder; deal with complex notions of truth and attempt to connect across difference.
