What you’ll study
You'll undertake a range of core Law units to develop a fundamental understanding of areas like ethics, tort and Australian constitutional law. You'll then elect to broaden your knowledge with your choice of options subjects or choose to pursue a major in Legal Futures and Technology.
Your IT studies will also see you complete core units, building your knowledge of web systems, networking, programming and more. You'll then select a major, specialising your knowledge in your IT discipline of choice to develop a curated, in-demand skillset to support your future career.

Course highlights
This program is designed to give you strong technical skills in IT, business analysis, problem-solving, teamwork and communication, as well as a thorough grounding in Australian legal practice. This course meets the academic requirements for admission as a lawyer in NSW. Graduates who want to practise law, will also be required to complete practical legal training (PLT).

Industry accreditation
This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer. Once completed, you will also need to complete a practical legal training program, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice (available at UTS) to be eligible for admission as a lawyer.
Students also have the option to undertake the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice once they have secured suitable full-time employment in the IT industry. This includes a minimum of nine months' full-time paid work experience with four supporting subjects at UTS.
