First year
You'll undertake a number of core disciplinary units, establishing a foundational understanding of key history, theories and perspectives. You'll also get hands-on in the architecture studio, learning to compose spatial relationships and apply design tactics to small scale design projects. -
Second year
Building on your fundamentals, you’ll continue your studio work in your second year, establishing essential skills in balancing project constraints and opportunities. You'll also hone your critical eye and learn about urbanism, Australian construction methods and environmental considerations. -
Third year
To finalise your learning, you'll examine lighting and acoustics, complete a practical studio capstone and be exposed to the latest industry-led perspectives and debates. Your elective choices will allow you to enhance your learning in key areas of interest. -
Fourth year
Your core subjects, Design Studio and Professional Practice will progress your knowledge and capabilities in design, research and professional practice. You'll also undertake your choice of elective units, which cover a wide range of topics, working directly with industry leaders and academics. -
Fifth year
Finalising your academic journey, you'll learn to advocate, manage projects and handle financing in a working environment in the Professional Practice core subjects, whilst undertaking your second year of select Design Studios and electives.

Upon completion of this degree, you'll need to meet the professional experience requirement of 3,300 hours and then sit the Architectural Practice Examination before applying for professional registration with the NSW Architect Registration Board.
