What you’ll study

Within this degree, you’ll complete core Communication studies, learning about digital literacy, citizenship and the communication of difference. You’ll then specialise your learning through your Media Arts and Production major, where you’ll attain practical competencies in designing, developing and delivering a range of media, from drama to documentary.

You’ll also have the option to enhance your specialised skillset further through a second major in areas like journalism, strategic communication, digital media or social and political science. Alternatively, you’ll broaden your educational experience with your choice of electives.

  1. First year

    Your first year will see you build foundational knowledge of Communication and media. You’ll learn about media arts, production and screen story, then complete units in your choice of secondary major stream, such as social media, journalism or strategic communication.
  2. Second year

    This year, you’ll go further into your core studies, learning about documentary production, experimental media and the communication of difference. You’ll also continue your second major studies or elect to enhance your knowledge through your choice of electives.
  3. Third year

    Finalising your degree, you’ll undertake any remaining core, elective or secondary major units. You’ll also work individually or within a team to design and deliver one or more projects as a capstone to your studies.
