Road accident Blackspot geo-coding Effectively identifying and predicting the likelihood of car accidents at each location is crucial for social good and better community services. AAi has recently delivered a system which can detect and geo-code blackspots related to car vehicle accidents for an Australian leading general insurer. The system detects high risk incident spots from a huge number of incident claims, in which the majority of claims does not incorporate accurate geo-spatial information but customers’ descriptions of incidents. Accurate geocoding can help clients to (1) improve community awareness and safety and reduce claim costs for drivers; (2) inform various levels of government for better road planning and safety management in a targeted way; and (3) provide drivers with early-warning in planning their travel paths, reducing road risk for social good. | |||
