The UTS Master of Teaching Primary Education will comprehensively prepare you for a rewarding, fulfilling career as a primary school teacher.
You'll establish a foundation of up-to-the-minute research-based theory, which will equip you to make informed decisions in real environments. Practical and hands-on, this degree also includes an intensive professional experience program. You'll enjoy placements at a range of rural and urban schools, building your capabilities in different settings and helping you become a well-rounded education professional.
This course is a NSW primary school teaching preparation course and adheres to the subject content knowledge prerequisites as stipulated by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

What you’ll study
The Master of Teaching Primary Education is a postgraduate degree, and you must have completed a relevant undergraduate degree to enrol. In this program, you'll complete key and core Primary Education subjects to acquire knowledge in vital teaching areas, such as inclusive education, classroom management and digital learning.
You'll then apply your learnings to a real school environment, completing 60 days of practice with one of our 200+ partner schools in regional and urban areas of New South Wales.

First year
You will go hands-on in primary education, with a focus on child development and classroom management. You’ll study key areas like mathematics, Indigenous Australian education, creative arts, science and technology, and English for early learners. -
Second year
Learn to teach English as an additional language, explore human society in primary education, and incorporate digital learning. Complete your professional experience with a teacher performance assessment, alongside studies in inclusive education, health, and advanced mathematics education.
Course highlights
In this degree, you'll be taught high-level primary teaching methods in subjects like English, creative arts and health and physical education (PDHPE).
