What you’ll study
As a pharmacy student, you’ll combine the study of therapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences with the theory and practice of designing, developing, implementing and evaluating professional pharmacy services. You’ll have the option to choose electives that reflect your interests, preparing you for your dream career.
You’ll undertake clinical practice in a wide variety of settings throughout the degree, including a guaranteed hospital pharmacy placement for eligible students. On-campus learning takes place in the Graduate School of Health's state-of-the-art education and research facility, which opened in 2019.

First year
Diving right in, you’ll be introduced to pharmacy and the role it plays in healthcare. You’ll build a foundational understanding of drug formulation, therapeutics and practice, the treatment of illness and disease using medication, and undertake three clinical placements. -
Second year
Finalising your degree, you’ll take on advanced topics like medication management for chronic diseases, pharmacotherapy for diverse conditions and drug development from laboratory to patient. Completing your clinical placements in various settings will prepare you to kick-start your one-year internship.

Innovative and practice-based, this course gives you specialist knowledge relevant to contemporary pharmacy practice and the skills to succeed within changing medical, social, political and regulatory contexts. Industry accreditation
This program has been granted accreditation by the Australian Pharmacy Council and is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist in Australia. Graduates must complete a compulsory pre-registration training period and Intern Training Program in order to be eligible for registration.
