Learn from the best in the industry in this innovative, practice-based three-year program, which incorporates the core components of the UTS Master of Pharmacy, such as therapeutics, pharmaceutical science and professional pharmacy services, with an extensive series of clinical placements.
Spend a year on placement in Canada, Germany or the United Kingdom, in addition to the more than five hundred hours of clinical placement you complete throughout the course. We cover airfares, health insurance and visa fees for your year of international clinical placement, and we’ll also provide you with in-country mentor support while you’re away.

What you’ll study
You’ll combine the study of therapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences with the theory and practice of designing, developing, implementing and evaluating professional pharmacy services. You will have the opportunity to choose electives that reflect your interests and prepare you for your dream career.
In addition to your one-year international placement, you’ll undertake a series of clinical placements in a variety of settings, including a guaranteed hospital pharmacy placement for eligible students. On-campus learning takes place in the Graduate School of Health’s state-of-the-art education and research facility, which opened in 2019.

First year
Diving right in, you’ll be introduced to pharmacy and the role it plays in healthcare. You’ll develop a foundational understanding of drug formulation, therapeutics and practice, the treatment of illness and disease using medication, and undertake three clinical placements. -
Second year
Continuing your foundational studies, you’ll build on your knowledge and skills in key areas of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical science. You’ll begin your international placement in Canada, the UK or Germany, acquiring a fresh, international perspective on healthcare. -
Third year
Finalising your degree, you’ll take on advanced topics like medication management for chronic diseases and drug development from laboratory to patient. Completing your local and international clinical placements in various settings will prepare you to register as a pharmacist post-graduation.

Industry accreditation
This program has been granted accreditation by the Australian Pharmacy Council and is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist in Australia. Graduates must complete a compulsory pre-registration training period and Intern Training Program in order to be eligible for registration.
