What you’ll study
You’ll undertake core subjects in areas like programming, databases, machine learning, modelling, cloud computing, mathematics, cybersecurity and project management. You’ll have the chance to specialise your degree through your major, where you’ll acquire vital professional skills required to build and manage secure and reliable data platforms.

First year
You’ll start your degree by studying a range of subjects including data engineering, mathematics, programming, networking and data analytics, getting hands-on with a self-directed project in your first engineering studio. -
Second year
Your second year of study will see you take your learning further as you complete units in modelling, data systems, databases and machine learning. You’ll continue your practical education with two more studio subjects. -
Third year
This year, you’ll get to apply your learning in a real professional environment through your engineering work experience. You’ll also gain knowledge in cloud computing, software as a service and the creation of sustainable engineering projects. -
Fourth year
You’ll conclude your degree by completing your engineering capstone, where you’ll compile a research-backed report on a discipline-specific project. You’ll also finalise any remaining subjects, including a final studio subject and a professional experience review.
