What you’ll study

You'll commence your studies with core Communication units, helping you develop a strong understanding of this exciting and ever-relevant discipline. Then you'll proceed with your specialist study, honing your understanding of society, politics and change on a local, national and global scale. 

A professional placement will give you the chance to apply your learnings hands-on in a real workplace setting. You'll also get to examine other relevant topics through your elective units, and can opt to complete a second Communication major to deepen your expertise.

Changing from another undergraduate course

You can apply for our courses using your previous study. You may even be eligible for recognition of prior learning, so you won’t need to repeat subjects.

Social and Political Sciences graduates work in the public sector (parliament and government departments), community services, advocacy organisations, not-for-profits, media and for commercial companies. Graduates work in areas of climate justice, mental health, migrant and refugee rights, sports communication, social inclusion, health, homelessness and housing, human rights and tackling socioeconomic inequality.
