There are many possibilities to explore in the world of Engineering and IT, from civil engineering to exploring solutions for sustainability. Our holiday workshops will provide the opportunity to solve real-world problems using engineering and technology with other girls and women just like you. Join the UTS community to start exploring!
STEM x Holiday Workshops
When: April/ October 2025
Where: UTS Campus
Primary school STEM x Play Workshops
Start the day developing new skills in engineering and technology before identifying a problem to solve. Build solutions in teams and share them with your family. We welcome girls at all points on their STEM journey – all workshops will start with the basics.
Years 5 and 6
Workshops available:
- Lego EV3 Mindstorms (Robotic Cars)
- Drone technology
Photos and videos will be taken during the workshops to share with families and on social media. Please read our media consent form before completing the registration form.
High school STEM x Impact workshops
It’s not always easy to know what you want to study or do after school. Join our holiday workshops to get hands-on with different areas of engineering and IT and solve real-world problems that you care about. Meet other young women who are curious about STEM and women currently studying engineering and IT at UTS and check out some of the innovative spaces. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.
Years 7 and 8
Workshops available:
- Renewable energy
- Civil Engineering
Years 9, 10, and 11
Workshops available:
- MicroMelons (Autonomous vehicles)
- "Mind Reading" - Sensing Brain Signals (Arduino)
Photos and videos will be taken during the workshops to share with families and on social media. Please read our media consent form before completing the registration form.
All projects will take place on UTS Ultimo Campus. We prioritise registrations for girls, young women and gender-diverse people. Spaces for others are limited. Your place will be confirmed by email one week before the workshops begin, including details for the day.
