Creating engineering and technology solutions needs diverse innovators to design solutions that include the needs of those who are different and similar to us. We are looking for change makers to be part of a movement to break pervasive gender stereotypes and build an inclusive, supportive community.
Volunteer for Women in Engineering and IT
You could be a STEM student yourself with a burning desire to share your passion for learning, a STEM professional wanting to improve your mentoring skills and give back, an education student or professional wanting to get ready for the classroom and the digital technologies curriculum, or a gender studies student curious about how STEM can empower women to shape society and gain independence.
As a WiEIT volunteer you could:
- Inspire girls in primary and high schools to create the change of tomorrow by helping them gain the skills and confidence through our School Outreach Programs
- Mentor women in the Lucy Mentoring Program
- Research gender equity in engineering and IT
- Provide support for industry events as part of our Lucy Mentoring Program
- Contribute to the development of our community by supporting our regular events
- Inspire other women in STEM and raise awareness through non-gendered content creation, photography, video, design, writing or sharing your story in our blog
- Design and develop campaigns to educate girls about careers in STEM and influence perceptions
- Offer your skills to the WiEIT team - we welcome everyone!
Volunteering for Women in Engineering and IT can count towards the UTS Soul Award.
