This notice explains how and why we collect and process your personal information when you are hiring facilities at the University of Technology Sydney (referred to as we, us, our or UTS).
Facilities hire privacy notice
Collecting your information
When you hire and use our facilities we will collect the following information:
- your name, organisation, and contact details
- information about your proposed event and booking details
- communications with you before, during and after your event
- payment processing information.
A range of CCTV is in place across UTS and may also collect information while participants are on campus.
How we use your information
We use your information:
- to manage your application and facilitate your hire of UTS facilities.
- to maintaining communication with you.
- for quality improvement and planning processes associated with the effective use of our facilities.
Information will be used to address non-payment of fees, or to deal with any complaints or damage or that may have resulted from an event. This information may also be used to considering future hire request.
Who receives your information
We will only disclose your personal information:
- for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a directly related purpose (this may include where we use contracted service providers who perform some of our functions on our behalf, such as hosting information systems),
- where you have provided your consent, or
- if we are required or permitted to do so by law.
How long we keep your information
Your information will be kept for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this notice and in line with our requirements to keep records under the State Records Act 1998 (NSW)
