Here’s a rundown of the latest course updates for 2025- 2026 to help you advise your students effectively.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Creative Production Courses
Creative production offerings (Animation, Media Arts, and Music and Sound Design) are set for an update in 2026. Pending final TEQSA approval, these revamped courses align with UTS’s newly adopted creative industries strategy. Advisors should inform prospective students to “watch this space” for a formal update.

Primary Education
The Bachelor of Educational Futures Master of Teaching in Primary Education is accredited by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). It meets all requirements for teaching in NSW schools, including language proficiency, making it a strong option for aspiring primary educators.

Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building

School of Design 

Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication. A mid‐year intake is now available for 2025. Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication

Bachelor of Design in Product Design and Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles. These courses will see a mid‐year intake in 2026. Bachelor of Design in Product Design

School of Built Environment

In collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS is launching three innovative combined degrees in 2025. These new options integrate sustainability with Engineering and Information Technology disciplines, ensuring graduates are equipped with in-demand skills:

Bachelor of Food Science & Technology
A brand-new course designed to build skills for transforming the global food economy. Students also have the option to combine this with a Bachelor of Business.

This new fourth-year program is tailored for Medical Science students specialising in Pathology, aiming to provide advanced skills and industry experience for a laboratory career.

Transdisciplinary School

Designing Your Future
A standout elective within the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) curriculum, inspired by Stanford’s Life Design Lab. This course encourages self-discovery and practical career design, helping students map out a purposeful future.
 

Industry Focus
With over 800 established partnerships – including with Google, UNICEF, and Cricket NSW – UTS provides students with real-world project experience. Recent projects have included tackling sustainability challenges, such as developing a program to fight greenwashing.

Global Collaborations
The BCII continues its licensing arrangement with the University of Arizona and has established new research partnerships, for instance with the University of Exeter on creativity and innovation. This enhances opportunities for collaborative learning and research.
