Coursework students who graduate with a masters degree, graduate diploma, or bachelor degree will receive a printed copy of their testamur at their graduation ceremony.

Students who do not attend their graduation ceremony can elect to collect their printed testamur or request a mailout.

Eligible students who have opted in will also receive digital copies of their academic record (transcript), Australian Higher Education Statement (AHEGS) and testamur via My eQuals.

Graduate Certificates

Students graduating from graduate certificate courses don't attend university graduation ceremonies. However, some faculties conduct their own graduate certificate presentation events.

If your faculty is conducting a certificate presentation event, an invitation will be sent to your preferred mailing address after your award has been conferred. You'll receive a printed copy of your testamur at the presentation.

If your faculty isn't conducting a graduate certificate presentation event, you can obtain your testamur:

  • via collection from the UTS Student Centre, or
  • via post, please complete an application for document mailout.

Please note, if choosing post, ensure that your 'preferred mailing address' and 'contact phone number' are updated in My Student Admin. If requesting to have your certificate mailed overseas, you must supply a valid overseas contact phone number to ensure the successful dispatch of your documents.

Students will also receive digital copies of their academic record (transcript), Australian Higher Education Statement (AHEGS) and testamur via My eQuals.

Eligibility

To receive your testamur you are required to:

  • settle any outstanding debts
  • return all UTS Library items
  • have a status of 'passed' (as displayed in My Student Admin) by the cut-off date for the most recent conferral period.

To check if you have any outstanding debts or fines, generate an invoice from the Invoice tab of My Student Admin. The invoice will be emailed to your student webmail account.

You should also:

  • make any corrections to your formal name by submitting a Change of student details form (this must be submitted by a certain date), and
  • make any changes to your 'preferred mailing address' in the Personal tab of My Student Admin.

Please note, your formal name will appear on your testamur, academic record and AHEGS. You can see your formal name displayed in the Personal tab of My Student Admin.

Awards and graduation rules

Rules governing awards and graduation are in Section 13: Awards and Graduation of the University's Student and Related Rules.

Faculties are responsible for a student's academic progression. If you have any enquiries about your academic progression you should contact the UTS Student Centre.
