Events and Activities
BUILD events include core foundational and elective activities. Activities may be held online and on campus, hosted nearby, or abroad.
How do I find out about upcoming events and workshops?
Once you have registered with BUILD, you can find out about our events and workshops from several sources:
- CareerHub - You will be able to view the BUILD core activities, elective events and experiential activities via CareerHub. You can then track your progress through the program via your CareerHub dashboard which will show what you have booked into and attended, tallying your program points as you complete the various sections.
- The Bi-weekly BUILD Up eNewsletter features upcoming BUILD opportunities.
- Social media @utsbuild – Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin.
BUILD core activities are exclusive to registered members, however, many electives are more open to all UTS students.
Must I attend every BUILD event and workshop?
All members are required to complete the standard suite of BUILD core activities to lay the foundation and framework that supports your leadership journey. These four activities tally to 40 points which is the minimum requirement to complete the core part of your program.
Members can then select from the elective options that fit within your schedule and suit your personal interests. You need to complete at least 60 points of electives.
Once you have a minimum of 40 core points and 60 elective points totaling 100 points, you have completed the BUILD Program!
BUILD Endorsed Global Immersion Experiences under Think Global
A natural progression of your BUILD leadership journey is to consider an immersive overseas experience, such as a six month Global Exchange or a 2-6 week Global Short Program. These experiences can cap off your preparation for a truly international career. If you would like to know more about virtual and overseas programs, visit the respective websites and contact the teams that coordinate these programs. All UTS approved overseas global experiences count towards BUILD elective points - Global Exchange and In-Country Study (40 elective points) and Global Short Programs (20 elective points).
