After a 3-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the much-awaited University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) for outstanding student leaders has returned to the United Nations.
Humanitarian Affairs Asia is hosting the 11th USLS to gather outstanding young leaders from around the world who are passionate about social change. The summit will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand from 1 to 4 August 2023.
Approximately 1,200 emerging world leaders from over 100 United Nations Member States are expected at this prestigious youth leadership event, which focuses on developing leaders to bring about social change.

Highlights at the USLS
Kindness Day. An experiential learning day where delegates contribute to the advancement of the People and the Planet through volunteerism that advances the UNSDGs, specifically humankind, animal welfare, and environmental protection. Activities range from volunteering at the biggest slums in Bangkok, to caring for the rescued elephants, to planting mangroves in order to mitigate the climate crisis.
Thematic Workshops by UN-Agencies. Delegates can attend workshop sessions based on their interest. Topics include Green Jobs for Youth, Narrow the Gap of Gender Equality, and Making Better Policies for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Humanitarian Speakers. Our inspirational speakers have gained international acclaim and recognition for their humanitarian work. Their inspirational stories of survival in the face of adversity and loss bring hope by demonstrating the extraordinary strength of the human spirit.
